Lexmark’s most recent patent infringement complaint, however, is against 24 companies that “engaged in the manufacture, importation, and sale of replacement cartridges for various Lexmark laser printers and multifunction devices,” according to the OEM.]]></description>

         <title><![CDATA[Green Project Adds Epson 98 and 99 Remans as Legal Battle with Epson Continues]]></title>

         <description><![CDATA[[August 24, 2010] On July 19, Green Project, a remanufacturer of ink jet and toner cartridges with headquarters and distribution based in Hacienda Heights, CA, and manufacturing facilities based in China, announced that the firm now offers remanufactured Epson 98- and 99-series ink tanks. Joseph Wu, president of Green Project, describes the remanufactured tanks as “environmentally sound and cost-saving alternatives” to the OEM tanks, adding, “Their print quality is flawless.” ]]></description>

         <title><![CDATA[Ricoh Lowers Cost of Printing for Workgroup Color Lasers]]></title>

         <description><![CDATA[[August 17, 2010] On July 21, Ricoh announced the Aficio SP C430DN and SP C431DN, a pair of letter/A4-sized workgroup color laser printers that replace the Aficio SP C420DN. While the new printers use the same pulverized color toner as their predecessor, Ricoh has jettisoned the standard- and high-yield toner cartridges available for the SP C420DN for a single set of new higher-yield toner cartridges. Cost-per-page figures are lower for the new printers than for their predecessor.]]></description>

         <title><![CDATA[Canon Debuts PGI-225 and CLI-226 Ink Tanks in New Ink Jet All-in-Ones]]></title>

         <description><![CDATA[[August 3, 2010] On July 20, Canon announced five new consumer ink jet devices, including one single-function printer and four all-in-ones, all of which use Canon’s pigmented black ink and ChromaLife100+ dye-based inks. While the Canon PIXMA MP280 and MP495 are four-color devices that use the PG-210/PG-210XL black and CL-211/CL-211XL tricolor integrated cartridges that Canon introduced along with the ChromaLife100+ ink set two years ago, the PIXMA iP4820, MG5120, and MG5220 are five-color devices that use a new set of ink tanks. The new PGI-225 pigmented black tank and CLI-226 ChromaLife100+ dye-based black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink tanks are the successors to the PGI-220 and CLI-221 tanks that Canon announced two years ago.]]></description>
